Scooter Laforge

The Festival Mode & Design offers a couple of notable talks today at the MAC, including New York visual artist Scooter Laforge, whose fashion collaborations have been sported by icons like Beyoncé and Rihanna, followed by designer and stylist Patricia Field, who counts among her many achievements the creation of the influential fashion identities of Sex and the City and The Devil Wears Prada. 185 Ste-Catherine W., Scooter Laforge conference 5:30–6:30 p.m., $15, Patricia Field conference 7–8 p.m., $35. Griffintown’s Arsenal gallery hosts (N)id, a Mardi Culturel collaboration between designer Nicolas Fonseca and Cirque du Soleil’s C:Lab featuring a food tasting set among the woven branches of the NEST installation of the gallery’s current E-Merge exhibition. 2020 William, 6–9 p.m., free

Architecture buffs and urban planners will appreciate tonight’s outdoor screening at the CCA: Nakagin Capsule Tower: Japanese Metabolist Landmark on the Edge of Destruction, a documentary about the early ’70s landmark of the modular and adaptable Metabolist architecture movement, now facing possible demolition. Cinemania’s outdoor summer series wraps up with Olivier Assayas’s Clouds of Sils Maria, starring Juliette Binoche and Kristen Stewart, earning the best reviews of her career — she even won a César for the film!
