There are quality concerts happening all over town tonight, but we’d be remiss not to mention the Jazz Fest’s big kick-off show, featuring Beirut — the first band ever interviewed for Cult MTL nearly three years ago (Ste-Catherine & Jeanne-Mance, 9:30 p.m., free). Also playing a free outdoor show tonight are local rap crew Heartstreets, faves of the team here at Cult MTL (Clark & de Montigny, 10 p.m., free).

The two-day, all-female DJ event known as Discwoman begins, bringing UMFANG, Pascale Project, Babi Audi, Beta Librae, ssurfacing and DJBOYZCLUB to the decks at la Vitrola. The party doubles as a fundraiser for Rock Camp for Girls. 4602 St-Laurent, 9:30 p.m., $10
