The FIFA Women’s World Cup comes to the Olympic Stadium today, and tickets for both matches — Spain v Costa Rica (4 p.m.), Brazil v Korea (7 p.m.) — are being sold together, for the price of one. 4141 Pierre-de-Coubertin, 4 p.m., $15–$90 (buy tickets here)

Over at the Fringe Festival, a vernissage will be held for the opening of the Galerie Fringe exhibition space at the MAI, featuring works by dozens of artists. 3680 Jeanne Mance, 7–9 p.m., free

The Suoni per il Popolo festival presents a screening of Nika Belianina’s feature documentary Eccentric Eclectic, the story of Meaford, Ontario’s experimental music and sound art festival. Beginning today, SAT will host free film screenings under the stars at the adjacent park, Place de la Paix every Tuesday evening through Sept. 8. The inaugural event features a selection of short films presented by short film series Prends ça court. Place de la Paix (St-Laurent just north of René-Lévesque), 9 p.m., free. Note that screenings will be moved to the ground floor of SAT (1201 St-Laurent) on rainy nights.
