St-Laurent Boulevard is combining the usual two street sales into one big event this year, merging with Mural Fest and running for 11 straight days of car-free public art installations, sales and special events, beginning today and running until June 14. Sherbrooke to Mont-Royal

Another can’t-miss arts event begins today in Verdun, with the second annual Queens Creation fest, featuring four days of all-woman programming including an exhibition of 30 visual artists, a live painting Art Attack, b-girl dance throwdown and sidewalk sale. Rising star of stand-up Tranna Wintour (#3 Best Comedian in this year’s Best of MTL readers poll, among rankings in many other categories) launches the Fringe Festival run of her new show Trantasy at the Wiggle Room. Though it’s unlikely that Divan Orange needs the money anymore, given the city’s recently announced investment in the beleaguered Plateau bar, the fourth edition of their Levée de son fundraiser series has a solid line-up of local synth punk bands: We Are Wolves, Duchess Says and Meta Gruau. 4234 St-Laurent, 9:30 p.m., $17
