The OldWIG vintage sale begins today and continues throughout the weekend at Bain Mathieu. Don’t miss your chance to stock up on vintage clothes, jewellery and home decor from dozens of vendors at this perennial favourite. 2915 Ontario, 59 p.m., free

Montreal’s signature art fair, Papier, opens today and runs all weekend long with a full program of artist talks, tours, roundtables and more to complement the artworks on paper from over 40 Canadian galleries. Things kick off with a vernissage tonight in the fair’s brand new digs, Complexe de Gaspé. 5445 de Gaspé, 69 p.m., free

Speaking of works on paper, Montreal’s own Spoiler Magazine, dedicated to showcasing emerging talent in Canada’s fashion scene, is launching its fifth issue Metamorphosis tonight at Salon Officiel, where the magazines will be available for special launch price of $20. 351 Roy E., 7 p.m.–3 a.m., free entry

The weekend-long MTL Roller Derby Beast of the East Tournament begins tonight at Arena St-Louis with an edge-of-your-seat match pitting hometown girls New Skids on the Block against Toronto’s CN Power. If you’ve never seen explosive Japanese rock band Zoobombs live, tonight brings another opportunity. They’re playing l’Escogriffe with Oromocto Diamond and Wizaard. 4467 St-Denis, 10 p.m., $12
