HABITAT: Experimental Visions of Montreal presents screening of films shot over six decades that “refract the diverse nature of Montreal’s unique urban environment,” showcasing landmarks such as Habitat ‘67, Mount Royal park and Place Ville Marie as well as “anonymous snowscapes, moon plays and back alley explorations.” La Sala Rossa (4848 St-Laurent), 8 p.m., $5

SAT and the FIFA film fest present Hip Hop Art, a program featuring a screening of Eric Ellena’s 2014 documentary Entre Ciel et Terre quand le hip-hop devient art, projected simultaneously on six screens, plus music by DJ Victorious and live performances by the Let Your Art Flow and Forêt Noire dance troupes. 1201 St-Laurent, 8 p.m., $16

Over at Katacombes, half a dozen hip hop acts (and one grunge band) play the Rock Against Racism benefit for Missing Justice, namely Rebel Rebel Rebel, Waahli & Lou Piensa (of Nomadic Massive), Warrior Minded, Heathers, Flowtilla Hamilton feat. The Mile End Poets Festival continues with MTL Spoken Here, hosted by Chris Masson and featuring performances by Alexis O’Hara, Geneviève Letarte, Deanna Smith and members of Montreal’s Throw Poetry Collective. Casa del Popolo (4873 St-Laurent), 9 p.m., $7/PWYC

It’s day 1 of the opening weekend of Newspeak, the space that was Cabaret Underworld.
