Concordia’s J.A. de Sève cinema marks the Chinese New Year (Feb. 19) with a 35mm screening of Cold Steel (2011), a “wartime sniper thriller” directed by David Wu, editor of John Woo’s classic films from the ’80s. If you don’t see your favourite bartender at your go-to watering hole tonight, it’s probably because they’re competing for glory in the Drunken Masters tournament, wherein 15 contenders will try to best last round’s winner and secure their spot in the championship finals. Bonus: special pricing on competition cocktails. Le Mal Nécessaire (1106B St-Laurent), 9 p.m., free entry
