ELAN (English Language Arts Network) hosts a panel discussion on cultural diversity in Montreal’s English language arts community as part of their Lundi Pluriel series, with presentations by Deborah Forde (Quebec Drama Federation), Lori Schubert (Quebec Writers Federation) and Salima Punjani (artist, creator of My Montreal, Our Values project). MAI (3680 Jeanne-Mance), 5–7 p.m., free

Experimental jazz trio Say Spirit launch Heartsong on cassette via Small Scale Music, with support from Olivier Prud’homme-Richard, Craig Pederson and Géraldine Eguiluz. La Passe (1214 de la Montagne), 8:30 p.m., $8/PWYC

On the heavier end of the sonic scale, true Norwegian black metal band Mayhem play with Watain and Revenge at Club Soda. Check out last week’s edition of Johnson Cummins’ column Hammer of the Mods for a forecast of how mammoth this show will be. 1225 St-Laurent, 9 p.m., $28/$30
