Like it or not, it’s Black Friday, and the Black Friday edition of Record Store Day — even here in Montreal. We’ve collected a list of small, independent Montreal clothing, bike and music retailers who are having sales today, here. Montreel-X, a film blog run by students from Concordia’s film studies specialization department, presents a double bill of David Lynch films: Eraserhead and Wild at Heart, presented in 35mm, preceded by a smattering of Lynch shorts. Lynch-appropriate snacks (pie, doughnuts, coffee) will be served at intermission. Concordia VA Cinema (1395 René-Lévesque W.), 6 p.m., PWYC

Paul Zone is in town to present prints of his photos of NYC punk icons and sign copies of his photo collection in book form: Playground: Growing Up in the NYC Underground. 3255 St-Jacques, 7 p.m.

Local filmmaker Philippos Babalanos presents the world premiere of his short horror film 15:01 followed by a behind-the-scenes doc and Q&A with the filmmakers. J.A. de Sève Theatre, 1400 de Maisonneuve W., 7:01 p.m., $10/$15

See A.J. Edwards’ The Better Angels, a Terrence Malick-produced film about the early life of Abraham Lincoln starring Jason Clarke and Diane Kruger, at an exclusive one-day engagement at Phi Centre. Phi Centre, 407 St-Pierre, 7:30 p.m., $11.25

Whether you want to consider it a Death show or just the best Death tribute band possible (ie: four of five non-dead members of Death playing Death songs), this show should be astonishingly ripping. Also, who can resist the chronological-thematic appropriateness of Death and Obituary on the same bill? Also featuring first-wave Floridian death metallers Massacre and U.S. Midwest heavies Rivers of Nihil and Homewrecker. 1220 Ste-Catherine E., 9 p.m., $40
