Grumman (640x525)
Grumman ’78’s Superbowl 2014 spread

The restaurant that started Montreal’s food truck revolution — taco specialists Grumman ’78 — is celebrating its fourth anniversary with a party tonight. They’ll be launching a new menu and serving beers from Brasserie du Trou du Diable as well as IP Oenopole. 630 de Courcelle, 6 p.m.

Cinema Politica, la Fédération du Québec pour le planning des naissances and the Concordia Centre for Gender Advocacy present Vessel, a documentary by Diana Whitten about abortion activist Rebecca Gomperts and her quest to circumvent abortion laws in certain countries by offering the service on off-shore ships. Whitten will be in attendance for a Q&A after the screening. 1455 de Maisonneuve W. (H110), 7 p.m., PWYC

Fight Club author Chuck Palahniuk is in town to launch his new novel, Beautiful You — the premise, according to The New York Times, is “an evil, rich man, C. Linus Maxwell, has invented a line of sex toys with which he will rule the world via female orgasm.” Buy a ticket here before 3 p.m. and you’ll get a pre-signed copy of the book at the event. Cabaret la Tulipe (4530 Papineau), 7:30 p.m., $53.24 all-in (includes signed book)

From the City of Angels (ie. L.A.), folk chanteuse Lily Kershaw is playing la Sala Rossa, with opening act the Vasts. 4848 St-Laurent, 8:30 p.m., $18
