Today’s First Fridays food-truck meet is the final edition of this monthly event for 2014, and it features some quality live music: local rappers Dead Obies, rock band le Trouble and reggae duo Riddim Wise. 4141 Pierre de Coubertin, 4–11 p.m.

An oyster and cocktail party is being thrown to raise funds for a Concordia University bursary that’s being set up in memory of local radio reporter, writer and bon vivant Ange-Aimee Woods, who died three months ago. SAT (1201 St-Laurent), 7 p.m.

Le Cinéclub / The Film Society presents the classic, silent 1923 version of The Hunchback of Notre Dame (starring Lon Chaney, who also played the Phantom of the Opera), screening in a gothic church with live music accompaniment. Westmount Park United Church, 4695 de Maisonneuve W., 7:30 p.m., tickets available at the door, cash only. $13, $9 (students and seniors 65+ with valid ID). The David Bowie Is exhibit never came to Montreal, but a new film by the same name, by Hamish Hamilton and Katy Mullan, pores over the material it contained (everything from handwritten lyrics to elaborate costumes) and builds a novel documentary narrative about the music icon. 407 St-Pierre, 7:30 p.m., $11.25

Just ahead of the Vigil for Missing & Murdered Native Women, choreographer Daina Ashbee presents her new work Unrelated, which deals directly with the struggles of aboriginal women in the face of lost identities. MAI (3680 Jeanne-Mance), 8 p.m., $18 (also happening tomorrow at the same time)

Dance party? CKUT 90.3’s Total Eclipse series presents Afrikelektro, Nomadic Massive’s Meryem Saci, Veeby and Bolbo Art, with CKUT DJs Dr. Bahar, Rhythm & Hues, Grosko, Luke Fowlie and Sundus filling in the silences. Inspecteur Epingle (4051 St-Hubert), 8 p.m., $1
