Be part of history by joining the global People’s Climate March — the Montreal demo takes off from Parc Lafontaine. Read about why this is so important here. (There will be a Silent Disco Squad contingent of the march, if you want to rock it that way.) Espace Lafontaine, 1 p.m.

Local archivists and scene historians Louis Rastelli and Alex Taylor lead a round-table POP Symposium about the Origins of the Montreal Underground Music Scene. Quartiers POP (3450 St-Urbain), 3:30-5 p.m., free

Short-lived Montreal indie pop heroes of the aughts, the Unicorns, reunite for a big POP Montreal show with fellow local OGs Each Other, Light Fires and the Adam Brown. Metropolis (59 Ste-Catherine E.), 9 p.m., $27/$30

Alternately, catch a clutch of synth-pop waves at POP’s Visage Music showcase with Essaie Pas, Automelodi, Police des Moeurs, Ambrose and DJ Dino Secondino. La Vitrola (4602 St-Laurent), 9 p.m., $10

And the closing party for POP Montreal is happening at the late-night space (the pimped basement of the church on St-Viateur at St-Urbain) with Calypso Rose & Kobo Town, Pierre Kwenders and Fwonte & Poirier. 105 St-Viateur W., 11 p.m., $15
