Osheaga

It’s Osheaga, bitches! The first day of the three-day music festival packs in a wide range of sounds, from OutKast and Pusha T, to Skrillex and Jacques Greene, to Chromeo and Ryan Hemsworth, to le Trouble and Mac DeMarco. Parc Jean Drapeau, 1–11 p.m., $95/$225 for Gold Pass (terrasse access/main-stage seating)

Our Screen Team reviewed four films playing at Fantasia today, and even the ones they didn’t love sound kind of amazing. Check that out here. 1455/1400 de Maisonneuve W., various times

The monthly First Fridays food-truck gathering at the Olympic Stadium Esplanade is on, with live music by Corinna Rose, les Soeurs Boulay, Random Recipe and Safia Nolin. 4141 Pierre-de-Coubertin, 4–11 p.m.

Palestiniens et Juifs Unis have organized a Gaza solidarity demo at Place Émilie-Gamelin. Berri/de Maisonneuve E., 6 p.m.

The MEG festival and Osheaga copresent what promises to be a killer party, if you’re down with dark electro and techno on the dancefloor. The talent on stage and behind the decks is Danger, Pomo, MR. Nokturn and Das Mörtal. Le Belmont (4483 St-Laurent), 10 p.m., $23

Chromeo will be headlining the Osheaga afterparty at the Corona Virgin Mobile Theatre, with openers Bear Mountain and Basecamp. This doubles as a 10-year anniversary party for Last Gang Records. 2490 Notre-Dame W., 11:30 p.m.,  $32/$22 with an Osheaga pass
