The Lachine Canal

Get nautical! Today and tomorrow, the Lachine Canal will be full of activity with Parks Canada’s Nautical Fest. Look into boat and canoe tours, pedal-boating, kayaking and more, here.

For a cinematic dose of creepy magic-realism (or a subtler, weirder take on Funny Games), check out a 2013 Dutch film called Borgman. Cinéma du Parc (3575 Parc), 4:30 or 9:15 p.m., $11.50

It’s the final curtain for the Royal Phoenix. Manning the decks at tonight’s closing party are DJs Thomas Promise, Maclean and JNNBNNRCK. 5788 St-Laurent, 9 p.m., free

Produced by Eli Roth and directed by Ti West (The House of the Devil, V/H/S), The Sacrement is a thriller about a pair of Vice TV reporters in the midst of what might be a Jonestown-style cult. 407 St-Pierre, 9:30 p.m., $11.25

Trap Fest assembles DJ/producers High Klassified, Da-P, Dave Luxe, JUD, Granbuda and Ragers to test the foundations of le Belmont. 4483 St-Laurent,  10 p.m., $12/$15

This month’s edition of Shoegayz, the guitar-music dance party with DJs Franz, Montag and Diskommader, welcomes guest DJ Nick Comilla for an introductory set of dream pop and witch house. Cabaret Playhouse (5656 Parc), 10 p.m., $5
