As part of Encuentro, Cinema Politica are presenting a week-long film series “Creativity, Colonization, Contestation: Indigenous Cultures and Peoples of the Americas on Screen and Stage.” Tonight they screen a Jeff Barnaby double-bill in his presence. Rhymes for Young Ghouls, about an aboriginal teenager’s revenge plot against a sadistic Indian agent, and File Under Miscellaneous, a short film set in a dystopian future where Natives undergo gruesome surgery to fit into the dominant white culture.
