BBAM! Girls (Fearless Intentions)

It’s the first monthly food truck gathering of the season at the Olympic Esplanade, with over 40 mobile kitchens, DJs Riddim Wise and Florence M, and a beer & wine bar on hand to complete the party picture. To see what kind of cuisine you can expect from these mobile kitchens, look here. 4141 Pierre-de Coubertin, 4–11 p.m.

At the fifth annual Montreal Latin American Film Festival, you can check out Ariel, a documentary which explores what life is like for people with unusual bodies. Cinéma du Parc (3575 Parc), 7 p.m., $11.50

BBAM! Girls (Fearless Intentions) is a group exhibition of work by seven female artists at BBAM! Gallery, having its vernissage tonight. Details here. 3255 St-Jacques, 7 p.m.

Patricia Chica launches her new short film Serpent’s Lullaby with a party at Café Cleopatra. 1230 St-Laurent, 8 p.m., $10 in advance/$15 at the door

Mexican producer Daniel Maloso (Latin vibes, new wave attitude, European grooves) plays live at Datcha, with support from Marie Davidson, Dreems and Thomas Von Party. 98 Laurier W., 10 p.m., $10/$15

Get your ’90s on at Femme Fatale’s Grungeapalooza, a dual benefit for Rock Camp for Girls and Head and Hands, with live sets by Hervana, Whole and the Bombs, with DJ Like the Wolf in the mix too. 5656 Parc, 11 p.m.  

There’s a Hip Hop Convention happening at le Belmont, with all aspects of the culture represented: rap, a graffiti expo, live mural-painting, breakdance, DJing, live-beatmaking and a live band. See the list of participants here. 4483 St-Laurent, 11 p.m., $5
