Have you heard about Concordia’s Grimposium? All day today and tomorrow, there’ll be film screenings, book launches, panel sessions and art exhibitions featuring major figures from the global extreme-metal scene. 1400 de Maisonneuve W., 9 a.m.–5 p.m.

Mascara & Popcorn host a Body Horror Contest at Bistro de Paris. They’ll be screening a bunch of awesome/gruesome films, pitting MUA/FX artists against each other in competition, mounting live performances and an art expo. 4536 St-Denis, 7 p.m., $10/$12

Tony Bravo hosts the Wiggle Room’s Signature Boylesque, which will feature performances by Roscoe Stone, Phoenix Wood, Pitch Dark, Michael J McCarthy, Galichi, Tristan Ginger, Tranna Wintour and Golden Thunderpants. 3874 St-Laurent, 9 p.m., $20/$25 at the door
