Three Monkeys — or, um, IIIMNKYS — moved to a new location in Cours Mont-Royal, and to celebrate, the trendy boutique is throwing a party. Expect alcohol. 1455 Peel, 6–9 p.m.

MTL Zoo celebrates its first anniversary with a party and exhibition featuring a pantheon of Montreal lowbrow and street art’s finest, including Jason Botkin, Jonathan Bergeron, Labrona, Garbage Beauty and many, many (many!) more. Galérie l’Agora (255 Ontario E.), 6–9 p.m.

It’s day one of the annual MPROV improvisation comedy fest. Opening night offers Montreal Improv Shortform and the Ugly Hours at 7 p.m., and Rumble Pak, the Pheonix Files and Hip.Bang! at 9 p.m. Montreal Improv (3697 St-Laurent), $6 per show

Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Basia Bulat does a 514 launch for her new LP, Tall Tall Shadow. Ge there for the opener, fellow Toronto act Evening Hymns. Cabaret du Mile End (5240 Parc), 9 p.m., $15/$18
