Les 4 soldats

Décover visual arts magazine launches its fall issue with a group show by the featured artists, a BBQ and party. Station 16 (3525 St-Laurent), 5 p.m.–1 a.m., $10 with copy

Kafein hosts a Poetry Night featuring Cora Dean, Regimental Oneton and Cam Novak. There are still some spaces available if you’d like to try your hand at poetry or prose. 1429A Bishop, 8 p.m.

If comedy is more your thing, Théâtre Ste-Catherine is hosting the return of Grinders Open Mic where performers toss their names into a hat in order to get stage time. 264 Ste-Catherine, 8:30 p.m., PWYC

And Grumpy’s has their weekly open mic hosted by Walter J. Lyng, which allows for all kinds of performance — mainly comedy and music. 1242 Bishop, 10 p.m., free

Royal Phoenix launches a new Tuesday weekly, La Mode et la Morte, with live performances by Zyhkeira and Hua Li, resident DJ Pablo Montoya and his guest Teck-Zilla. 5788 St-Laurent, 10 p.m.
