Jon Bennett’s Pretending Things Are a Cock

See Nadine Gomez’s Le Horse Palace, a documentary that explores one of Montreal’s last stables and its owner Leo Leonard, as part of RIDM’s Cinéma sous les étoiles programming. Cinémathèque québécoise screens Juliet Lammers and Lorraine Price’s Last Woman Standing (featured in the July print issue of Cult MTL and here). The documentary follows the friendship and rivalry between two female boxers as they compete for a single spot on the 2012 Olympic team. Festival International Nuits d’Afrique starts today. The fest runs until July 21 and is included in the Festi+ Pass. The benefits from the Pass for this festival include: a free ticket to see a show from the Révélations series (reservations required, check their website for details), and a free music compilation from the 27th edition of the festival when you purchase a show ticket for Nuits d’Afrique at the La Vitrine box office.
