Cease & Desist Jewelry launch their spring line at Espace POP

Two exciting new limited-edition graphic art books launch tonight at Mille Putois. L’Atlas Sérigraphie de Montréal features serigraph works by 16 local artists, including Seripop, Julie Doucet, Jacinthe Loranger and Dominique Pétrin, while Têtes de Mickey collects artists’ portraits in cartoon form. Cease & Desist Jewelry launches its spring line with a party, pop-up boutique and fundraiser. Peruse the bijoux, take in a soundtrack by Vilify, Milton Clark, Hua Li and Bus & Cristobal, check out live painting by William Dan Buller and other exhibitions, while supporting Head & Hands, which will receive the event’s bar sales. Tonight marks the 10th edition of the Beaux Dégats art mash-up, pitting six teams of artists against one another in battle. Foufounes Électriques (87 Ste-Catherine E.), 7–10 p.m., $5 before 9 p.m.

Death and the Maiden, Ariel Dorfman’s explosively provocative and award winning drama, set in a country that has only recently returned to democracy, opens tonight at the Players’ Theatre (3480 McTavish), May 29–31, 7 p.m., $6 students/$8 adults
