Art Matters continues its week-long slate of finissages with the closing bash for Curio, Amira Shabhson’s collection of works about collection. Galerie Coatcheck (5180 Notre-Dame W.), 6–9 p.m., free

Toronto filmmaker John Porter is a lifelong devotee of Super 8, the vintage lo-fi film format. He’ll be screening a selection of his films, which often involve performance aspects, as a special event at arts film fest FIFA. Cinémathèque québécoise (335 de Maisonneuve E.), 9 p.m., $12.44
