There’s a party tonight to close out Art Matters show Ruins, a group exhibition exploring the traces the past leaves behind in numerous media, at the show’s finissage. VAV Gallery (1395 Réné-Lévesque W.), 6–9 p.m., free

Hit the launch party for Mapping the Mosaic, a community-driven web project to track and explore the linguistic and cultural context of Montreal’s neighbourhoods by attaching stories to specific sites. McCord Museum (690 Sherbrooke W.), 7 p.m., free

It’s opening night for Dance Me to the End ON/OFF Love, a dance and theatre piece by celebrated Dutch company Granhøj Dans set to the music of local hero Leonard Cohen. Centaur Theatre (453 St-François Xavier), 8 p.m., $38
