Come to our party, the launch of Cult MTL’s March issue, starring the (first ever) band on our cover, Suuns, as DJs. SAT (1201 St-Laurent, 2nd floor), 10 p.m., $5 (note that the 7 p.m. dinner party in the same space is sold out)

The Salon du disque et des arts underground de Montréal, part of the ongoing Under the Snow festival, gathers over 100 vendors under one roof, selling music, print publications, art, clothing and accessories of all kinds, with live music and other treats on hand to guarantee good times while you shop. If you can’t make it today, it’s also happening tomorrow, same time and place. 454 Laurier E./5075 Rivard, 11 a.m.–5 p.m.

Art Mûr ushers in its spring programming with a vernissage for four new shows, by artists Sonny Assu, Renato Garza Cervera, Bevan Ramsay and Cooke-Sasseville (see On the walls for more info). 5826 St-Hubert, 3–5 p.m., free

Wanna be in a music video? Trigger Effect are looking for cool people to hang out, possibly in their underwear. They’re shooting today from 5–10 p.m. and tomorrow 12–5 p.m. Email theturbomachine@gmail.com for info.

Tonight is also the vernissage for artist Kim Waldron’s Beautiful Creatures, which looks at the stages of turning animal to meat — the slaughterer, the butcher and the cook — alongside stuffed animal figures. Bring an appetite, as Waldron herself will be supplying visitors with a “carnivorous treat,” but there’ll be meatless eats, too. Oboro (4001 Berri, #301), 5 p.m., free

Catch all three home teams of the Montreal Roller Derby League — so, les Contrabanditas, les Filles du Roi and la Racaille — as they face off in a round robin competition. Taz (8931 Papineau), 6:30 p.m., $10/$15 door (no ATM on site)

Play 13 video games by 13 women, all first-time creators at the Pixelles Showcase. Execution Labs (3863 St-Laurent, Suite 206), 7–9:30 p.m.

Check out Pouzza Fest’s weekly dose of heavy talent. Tonight’s bands are Esprits Noirs, Khan, Nous Étions and Gulfer. L’Esco (4467 St-Denis), 9 p.m., $5

Cult MTL’s own Darcy MacDonald is the guest DJ at Please Me, Salon Officiel’s weekly hip hop throwdown with resident Mayday. 351 Roy E., 10 p.m., free
