Battle of the silent comedy stars

The Wildside festival’s lined up a full day of theatre, with a little something for any taste. Whether you’re in the mood for a Bollywood-style love story (Poutine Masala), a psychological thriller about friendship (Short Women), a silly clown show (A Day in the Life of Miss Hiccup) or a dark mystery (Life Here After), Centaur’s got your back. Bouge d’Ici presents Cinédanse, a series of short films about dance, and the perfect way to curl up after a long, hard weekend and watch other people do stuff. Mainline Theatre (3997 St-Laurent), 7–9 p.m., $5 suggested donation

The Cinéclub Film Society mounts a battle of the silent comedy stars, namely Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd, and live musical accompanists Simon Sloutsker, Shayne Gryn and Chris Tauchner. J.A. de Sève Cinema (1400 de Maisonneuve W.), 7 p.m.

The Phénomena festival is offering its first-ever Laboratoire Phénomena, an evening of multi-disciplinary performances in both languages, including puppet shows, spoken word, theatre performances and live music (performances will be in both French and English). Casa del Popolo (4873 St-Laurent), 8–10:30 p.m.
