Cirque de Boudoir specializes in decadence on the semi-regular, and they’ve cooked up what they claim will be the city’s sexiest New Year’s Eve event: Carnavalesque, a Mardi Gras bash modelled on the NOLA tradition. Ten-piece local band Colectivo (made up of alt-rock elderstatesmen from Overbass, Grimskunk, Redcore and BARF) and DJ Rusty bring the noise to the annual Réveillon at Bobards. Lucky 13 promises to be a bangin’ NYE party, but it’s also the first anniversary of Cabaret Underworld, a great excuse for another toast. Local punk veterans the Ripcordz host their annual Punk NYE blowout at Café Chaos, with a solid line-up of supporting bands: Ab Irato, Sale Gauloise, Talk Sick and Bastard 86.
