The Faint

It’s the final day of Smart Design Mart! You’ll want to get yourself down there for some of the best holiday gift shopping in town, as well as a belly full of delicious sandwiches and treats from Boulangerie Clarke, killer java from Dispatch Coffee and the last of the remaining issues of Cult MTL. We’ll be DJing all day and doing our best to keep our creepy mall Santa from the building. 5505 Casgrain, 12–5 p.m., free admission

Got your pipes all warmed up? Get yourself down to the annual CBC Christmas Sing-In, benefiting Leave Out Violence (LOVE), a “not-for-profit organization that aims to prevent violence in the lives of young people.” Belt out traditional holiday favourites along with a choir of seasoned pros, accompanied by organ, brass and percussion. The whole shebang will be broadcast on CBC Radio One on Christmas Day, and on various other stations throughout the month. The Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul (3415 Redpath, corner of Sherbrooke), 3 p.m., free admission

The Cannes Lions, compiling the best (and weirdest) of international advertising, screens this week at Cinéma du Parc. 3575 Parc, today at 3:15 p.m and 7:15 p.m. and Monday-Thursday 7:15 p.m.

The Faint perform their classic 2001 album, Danse Macabre in its entirety tonight at Club Soda. Trust and Icky Blossoms round out the bill. 1225 St Laurent, 8:30 p.m., $27.00–$30.15

Pink Mountaintops play Casa Del Popolo with guests Nordic Nomadic and Holy Oak. 4873 St Laurent, 9 p.m., $12.00–$15.00
