Jef Barbara: Free show!

Heads up: Phénomena festival’s offering a free afternoon show by glammy androgyne rocker Jef Barbara. Divan Orange (4234 St-Laurent), 5 p.m.

It’s opening night for the Black Theatre Workshop’s production of Djanet Sears’ Harlem Duet, a prequel to Othello set in the tense racial climate of 60s New York. Segal Centre (5170 Côte-Ste-Catherine), 8 p.m., $17–$25
