Netflix returns to #1 in SVOD market share in Canada

Streaming guide JustWatch has released their latest performance review of Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD) services in Canada, measuring the market share of the most popular streaming services across the country: Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Crave, Paramount+, Apple TV+ and Hayu.

According to Q1 results for 2025, Netflix has returned to #1 with 23% of the market, surpassing Prime Video at 22%. The market share of Disney+ sits at 18%, followed by Crave (13%), Paramount+ (8%), Apple TV+ (7%) and Hayu (4%).

“Netflix gained 1 percentage point this quarter to overtake Prime Video, which saw a minor decline from its leading position in 2024. Crave maintained the momentum it gained last year, holding onto its 13% market share. Apple TV+, which had shown the most growth in 2024 (+2%), stabilized at 7%. Disney+ remained consistent, while Paramount+ saw incremental growth.”
