Welcome Baby Box Montreal

Welcome Baby Box for all new Montreal parents to be delivered as of Jan. 1, 2024

“We want every child to have the same chance to succeed. This Welcome Baby Box is not just a gift. It’s also a great start for toddlers and their families in Montreal.”

Making good on a campaign promise made prior to her reelection in 2021, Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante announced that new parents in the city will finally be receiving a Welcome Baby Box as of Jan. 1, 2024.

When the initiative was first announced, the projected list of products included a thermometer, clothes, a blanket and cloth diapers as well as books, metro tickets and museum passes, some of which are shown in the photos below.

“Montreal’s Welcome Baby Box arrives January 1! To support Montreal families, we will offer them this Welcome Baby Box starting January 1, 2024. It includes sustainable items and items from local businesses that will be useful in the life of their child. We want every child to have the same chance to succeed. This Welcome Baby Box is not just a gift. It’s also a great start for toddlers and their families in Montreal.”
