Support for the Conservative Party of Canada decreases with education; increases with age, income

The less educated you are, the more likely you are to support the Conservative Party of Canada.

A study by the Angus Reid Institute has found that support for the Conservative Party of Canada decreases the more educated one is, and increases among the older and more wealthy.

The study found that the Conservatives currently have 46% support among Canadians with a high school diploma, and 40% among college and trade school graduates. Just 26% of Canadians with university degrees support the Conservative Party of Canada, significantly less than those who support the Liberal Party (40%), whose support increases the more educated one is.

With regards to age, the Conservative Party of Canada has 29% support among Canadians 18–34, 39% among those aged 35–54 and 41% among 55+.

Relating specifically to income, the CPC is supported by 29% of Canadians with a household income below $50K, 37% with incomes between $50K and $100K, and 46% with incomes above $100K. (For the complete table of results, please see page 2 in the report here.)

The Angus Reid study found that the Conservatives are leading in the polls with 38%, followed by the Liberals (31%) and NDP (18%).
