Large majorities of Canadians support bans on handguns and assault rifles

A study by Léger on gun control has found that large majorities of Canadians support bans on handguns and assault rifles.

87% of Canadians support a ban on importing, buying or selling assault rifles, while 78% support the same for handguns.

82% also support the implementation of a buyback program to make guns less available.

The study also found that majorities of Americans support bans on handguns and assault rifles.
