2 in 3 Quebecers are still worried they won’t receive good care in Quebec emergency rooms

Quebecers are those most likely to believe there is a shortage of nurses in the healthcare system.

According to a new study by Léger, 2 in 3 Quebecers (65%) still say they are worried that they will not receive good care if they need to go to an emergency room in Quebec. A previous Léger study ahead of the 2022 Quebec election found that 71% of Quebecers believe the Legault government had done a poor job reducing wait times in Quebec emergency rooms.

Majorities of Canadians in provinces across the country also believe the same about emergency room care in their respective provinces, with 67% of Canadians agreeing with the same sentiment overall.

The study also found that 2 in 3 Quebecers (63%) agree that the Quebec government doesn’t spend enough money on the healthcare system in the province.

Large majorities of Canadians say they’re worried about the state of healthcare in their province (86%), and believe that there is a shortage of nurses in their healthcare system (86%).
