6 CF Montréal players are joining Team Canada at the FIFA World Cup

There will be Montrealers to cheer for at the biggest sporting event in the world, beginning next Sunday.

After a banner soccer season for Montreal, which included getting as far into the MLS playoffs as the Eastern Conference semifinal, six CF Montréal players will be joining Canada’s men’s national team at the World Cup, which begins next week. This news follows follows the calling up of eight Montreal players to Team Canada training camp on Nov. 4.

The players in question are defenders Alistair Johnston, Kamal Miller and Joel Waterman, midfielders Ismaël Koné and Samuel Piette, as well as goalkeeper James Pantemis.

The FIFA World Cup is happening in Qatar, from Nov. 20 to Dec. 13.
