Moira just won the Queen’s Plate

The horse was of course named after the iconic character from Schitt’s Creek.

The first leg of the Canadian Triple Crown, the Queen’s Plate, took place at Toronto’s Woodbine Racetrack this afternoon, and the winning horse was a filly named Moira, who was of course named after Catherine O’Hara’s iconic character from Canadian TV series Schitt’s Creek.

This was the fastest Queen’s Plate in history, with Moira setting a synthetic-track record time of 2:01.48.

In second place was Hall of Dreams, who Moira finished seventh lengths ahead of.

The next leg of the Canadian Triple Crown is the Prince of Wales Stakes, which takes place at Fort Erie Racetrack on Sept. 13.

The Queen’s Plate was just won by Moira, named after Catherine O’Hara’s iconic character from Schitt’s Creek.
