A free outdoor screening of Dune is happening in Montreal on Sept. 4

Festival du Nouveau Cinéma is screening the 2021 Denis Villeneuve epic and other films on the weekend at Esplanade Tranquille.

Festival du Nouveau Cinéma (FNC) is presenting a free outdoor screening of Denis Villeneuve’s 2021 epic Dune on Sunday, Sept. 4. The event will take place in Esplanade Tranquille — on Clark between Ste-Catherine and de Maisonneuve — which will open at 6 p.m., with the screening beginning at 8 p.m.

The screening is part of FNC’s “estival” (seasonal) programming, which also includes Paolo Sorrentino’s 2021 drama The Hand of God (Sept. 2) and the 2022 Leonard Cohen documentary Hallelujah (Sept. 3). All of these screenings are taking place at Esplanade Tranquille.

The 2022 edition of the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma runs from Oct. 5–16.
