Place-des-Arts becomes 21st universally accessible Montreal metro station

A new wheelchair-accessible entrance and elevator was also unveiled at Mont-Royal station earlier this week.

Today the STM announced that Place-des-Arts is the 21st Montreal metro station to become universally accessible, with the addition of three elevators. Place-des-Arts is one of seven Montreal metro stations offering free entry this summer.

On Tuesday, a completely new entrance and elevator was unveiled at Mont-Royal, making it the 20th universally accessible station in the network.

In 2020, the City of Montreal committed to making 41 metro stations wheelchair accessible by 2025.
