Trudeau: Conservatives’ unwillingness to prioritize climate change policy “boggles my mind”

“There are very few people in this country who still think that you can have a plan for the economy without having a plan for the environment, and most of those people seem to be running for the Conservative leadership.”

During a press conference in Enfield, Nova Scotia this morning, announcing a $255-million clean energy investment, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau reaffirmed the Liberal party’s commitment to working with partners across the country to develop projects to fight climate change. He also took a shot at the Conservative party’s unwillingness to prioritize the environment in their policies and in their ongoing leadership race.

“It boggles my mind that the Conservatives are having a debate over leadership right now and are still arguing about whether or not we need to move forward on the fight against climate change. There are very few people in this country who still think that you can have a plan for the economy without having a plan for the environment, and most of those people seem to be running for the Conservative leadership.”
