François Legault bribing Quebecers $500

François Legault is bribing Quebecers with another $500 if he’s re-elected

The CAQ government spent $3.2-billion on $500 counter-inflation payments this spring.

François Legault is in full campaign mode, promising another $500 to Quebecers (to counter significant inflation) by the end of the year, but only if he wins the election on Oct. 3. In March, the CAQ government spent $3.2-billion on $500 payments to Quebecers earning less than $100,000, the same demographic who will receive the second instalment if (and probably when) the CAQ win a new mandate in the fall.
