Just 1 in 3 Americans believe the U.S. is a positive player in world affairs

1 in 2 Canadians say the same about Canada.

According to a new poll by the Angus Reid Institute, 1 in 3 Americans (33%) believe the U.S. is a positive player in world affairs. Conversely, a higher percentage of Canadians, 1 in 2 (50%), believe Canada is a positive force internationally.

The poll finds that Americans are generally more critical than Canadians when evaluating their own country.

When Canadians were asked whether or not they believe that the United States was a positive player internationally, 36% agreed, 3 points higher than when Americans were asked.
