Bars in Quebec are expected to reopen later this month

Quebec cinemas, theatres and places of worship reopen today.

Following the reopening of restaurants last Monday, Quebec cinemas, theatres and places of worship have the green light from public health to reopen today, at 50% capacity. Cinemas and seated theatre venues, for plays or music events, are capped at 500 people, or 1,000 if the event is outdoors, while places of worship can host up to 250 people. Proof of vaccination is still required for entry to all of the above, the exception being funerals, where 50 people are now permitted.

On Feb. 14, gyms, indoor sports and recreation facilities and spas will reopen, also at 50% capacity.

Sources close to Cult MTL report that bars, including small, standing-room-only music venues, may be permitted to reopen later this month. Live music shows are expected to begin again in March.
