Former University of Toronto professor Jordan Peterson is coming to Montreal. Earlier today, Evenko announced that the controversial psychologist and YouTube personality will be speaking at Theatre Maisonneuve on May 23, as part of the Canadian leg of his Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life Tour.

Jordan Peterson has deep ties to the city of Montreal. In 1991, he earned his Ph.D. in clinical psychology and did his postdoctoral fellowship at the Douglas Hospital until 1993. Following years of criticism, Peterson resigned from his tenured position at the University of Toronto last fall.

Peterson has come under fire for his conservative views, often challenging the confines of political correctness. Notable takes that have caused a stir from the academic over the years include his refusal to use gender-neutral pronouns and more recently, his dismissal of climate change.

Late last month, Jordan Peterson was a guest on The Joe Rogan Experience, which has added fuel to the fire in the recent public critique of the popular podcast host.

Last month, comedian Joe Rogan hosted the psychologist on his podcast.
