WATCH: A report from this afternoon’s anti-lockdown protest in Old Montreal

Hundreds of demonstrators gathered at Place Jacques Cartier in Old Montreal this afternoon for a protest against the health measures imposed by the Legault government on New Year’s Eve. There have been anti-curfew protests previously but given that they started at the curfew time of 10 p.m., the events were poorly attended — many of those who did participate were ticketed for being outside after curfew. People’s Party of Canada Leader Maxime Bernier was present today, as were several alt-right media reporters.
