The endeavour is part of the province’s effort to encourage first shots among the unvaccinated.

In a press conference this afternoon, Quebec Health and Social Services Minister Lionel Carmant introduced a new plan to persuade the 540,000 Quebec adults who remain unvaccinated to get their first shots of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The plan involves the opening of a series of pop-up clinics, the first being the CLSC Sainte-Catherine at the corner of Ste-Catherine and St-Laurent in Montreal, which will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (at 66 Ste-Catherine E.).

Carmant noted that the 8% of adult Quebecers who remain unvaccinated isn’t entirely made up of anti-vaxxers and people opposed to health measures; some come from vulnerable and marginalized populations.
