Legendary fashion icon André Leon Talley passed away yesterday at the age of 73.

Designer Tom Ford has released a statement following the passing of André Leon Talley, legendary fashion stylist, creative director and editor at Vogue magazine. Talley passed away yesterday of a heart attack stemming from complications of COVID-19. He was 73 years old.

Talley was a true fashion icon, known as an advocate for diversity in the fashion industry. Tom Ford referred to André Leon Talley as brilliant, with a wit that was both shocking, worthy of Marie Antoinette, as well as “sharp and right on.”

“I adored André. He was brilliant. Just when he would say something so completely shocking and worthy of Marie Antoinette he would then counter it with a statement so sharp and right on that it reminded you of exactly why he was able to have come so far in the world.”
