François Legault has been voted the Quebec personality of the year

According to a new Léger poll, Quebec Premier François Legault was voted the Quebec personality of the year for 2021. Health Minister Christian Dubé came in second place, while NFL player Laurent Duvernay-Tardif came in third. Rounding out the Top 5 are Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante and filmmaker Denis Villeneuve.

Léger president Jean-Marc Léger highlighted the strong performance of Valérie Plante in the poll, who “silenced her critics” during her re-election as Mayor of Montreal.

Léger also pointed out that the results would have been significantly different had the poll been limited only to young people, those aged 18–34.

“If the barometer were only of ‘young people,’ i.e. 18 to 34-year-olds, the personality of the year would not be François Legault. It would rather be Jay Du Temple, actor and host of Occupation Double, followed by comedian Arnaud Soly and signer Roxanne Bruneau. A big contrast.“
