$12 challenge Quebec food

If each household spent $12/week more on local food, Quebec farmers would generate $1B more revenue

Support local.

Earlier this year, Quebec Agriculture Minister André Lamontagne responded to a report about the popularity of Quebec wines with a challenge to Quebecers: If every Quebec household substituted $12 that they spent on foreign food purchases with food by Aliments du Québec, the province’s farmers, fishermen and food processors would get a $1-billion boost.

Quebec Premier François Legault also re-shared a similar message to Quebecers yesterday, and the importance of supporting local.

“If each family replaces $12 per week in their grocery shopping with food from Quebec, that’s $1-billion more for Quebec farmers, fishermen and food processors.”
