Celebrate all things French on Bastille Day

Today is Bastille Day, the Fête nationale in France, celebrated on July 14 to mark the anniversary of the Storming of the Bastille during the French Revolution (1789) and the Fête de la Fédération the following year. Outside of France, there is perhaps no larger celebration of Bastille Day than in Montreal, home to many, many ex-pats. The French flag has been raised at City Hall to mark the occasion, and Mayor Valérie Plante had a message for the French who call Montreal home.

Last year on Bastille Day, Montreal comedian Sugar Sammy also posted a stand-up clip as a nod to France’s Fête nationale.
