The Ari Aster film starring Joaquin Phoenix begins filming on Monday.

Joaquin Phoenix is playing the lead roles in Disappointment Blvd. Actresses Patti LuPone, Amy Ryan and Kylie Rogers have also signed on to the film, and multiple media sources have reported that Meryl Streep is also appearing in the film, though that has yet to be confirmed by producers A24.

Plot details are unknown for the time being. However, the film has frequently been described as a “nightmare comedy.” It is rumoured to have a projected four-hour runtime.

Nathan Lane has had an eclectic career on Broadway, on TV and in film. His performances in film adaptations of The Birdcage (1996) and The Producers (2005) both earned him critical praise, and in the past decade he’s been part of the casts of the ABC sitcom Modern Family, Showtime series Penny Dreadful: City of Angels and FX series American Crime Story as well as appearing in a number of feature films. For younger fans, his most notable role is as the voice of Timon in The Lion King franchise.
