Quebec has vaccinated more of its population with 1st doses than the U.K.

At this rate, Quebec will be one of the most vaccinated places in the world.

According to the latest figures from Our World In Data, Canada sits in fourth place in the percentage of the population having received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Currently, Canada has vaccinated 55.6% of its population with at least one dose, while Quebec, the province with the highest vaccination percentage, has vaccinated 58.4%.

In first place is Israel, with first-dose vaccinations having been administered to 62.96% of its population. The United Kingdom and Mongolia are in second and third place, with 57.26% and 56.45% vaccinated with at least one dose, respectively.

Yesterday, Quebec announced that it is now aiming for 80% vaccination coverage among all eligible age groups (12+), in order for safety measures to relax in the fall.
